The Esk Valley Walk runs through part of the village. The village is at the confluence of three streams which combine as the head of the River Esk.
Westerdale has a green valley landscape of sweeping hillsides, meadows and breathtaking scenery.
Spectacular views situated on a farm adjacent to open moorland in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors. Westerdale is at the source of the River Esk about 20 miles west of Whitby.
